VIENNA: THE EXPERIENCE...

So, last friday I went to Vienna. Invited by Joyce Muniz to play her monthly night ZONA at Cafe Leopold.
Got there at about 1pm on friday with two hours of sleep, feeling like a zombie and manage to leave my moleskine diary in the plane! Damn it! lost lots of lyrics Ive been writing in the last few months (!) argh! oh well I hope someone cool have it and read them and feel happy or think a little... zen thoughts now after been completely crossed and sad about it.

So get picked up by Marcus from the airport, he took me to the hotel (super 60's hotel...) got there and slept forever...then at about 8:30pm Joyce picked me up and we went to the venue to sound check and have dinner.

I was surprised about how vienna looks, soooo beautiful! Cafe Leopold is on this bit called the Museum Quarter, amazing. Got there had some food and then sound check everything is right for my live.
I get introduced to Motorpitch we get talking, he produces stuff with Dj Beware my man Michael! sweet, super nice dude.
I get talking to Joyce and ask her to say some words for the camera:

Then at around 11:30pm I went to Radio4 for an interview and a live dj set, it was super cool and the guys at the radio station very nice, they made me laugh lots!

Finished the dj set and off to ZONA, got changed and jumped on stage did 6 songs and after the live started djing! It was lots of fun! me and Joyce doing back to back, wicked!
After we went to another radio station on the Museum Quarter and had and after party and djed forever...then hotel slept 1 hour or so and back to London. WOW!

BERLIN: The experience!

Still trying to update this blog and not to miss on anything that has happened in the last few weeks, I have to write about my last trip to Berlin about a week ago...
I was there invited by DAN HAAKSMAN to take part of the BIG BOOTY CLASH between MAN RECORDINGS and DELICIOUS GUTTER, great line up as you can see on the flyer! I was really excited as I was gonna do a live P.A. for the first time in Berlin and fort the first time at a party for my label MAN RECORDINGS!

We went to the venue (SCALA) to sound check and there I met DJ BEWARE, he's a great funny guy that made his name in turntablism before becoming a more club dj, still though he's killer at scratching and that makes people crazy!

that's Beware (on the left) with Dj Showi another top dude/dj from Germany!

I sound checked quite quickly and then we went to have dinner at White Trash, if you havent been there you should definitely go! they serve great burgers and the place is amazing! a mix between chinese, irish and randomness all around!
To my surprise we were joined by Peaches! she was there to have dinner with us and I have to say the woman is the funniest person ever! we ended up cracking jokes and putting nicknames to the whole table! I HAD to ask her to have a photo taken with her to show you all who read this blog... (I know im cheesy) but you'll be surprised of all the peole from Colombia who tell me they read it! and I know in Colombia there's people that LOVE Peaches! so here it is!

After dinner we went to Scala for the show...I started djing then Daniel followed with his set and then Dj Beware killed it! with his scratching and mash ups of baile and bouncy tunes! then it was time for my live! i basically went on stage and gave my 200% went crazy and bang my head like never before! the people's response was great and i felt amazing with the connection! it went super quick and then I was knackered and sweating like a pig! but with a big smile on my face! There are videos of the live filmed by Beware (Im still waiting on those, will upload as soon as I have them...)

All along I had my great visuals, made for me by the super talented ARTELEVISUAL you can contact him for real cool visuals go on his myspace! so many people try to copy him, (a well known london vj was using some of his visuals and taking credit for it...)
RTV is the real thing! so go on his myspace and support this great colombian talent!!

After my live it was time for Don Rimini's set, he kept the party in top form and after him me and Beweezy came back again and finished killin' it! Did I mention Aaron Lacrate didnt turn up? I dont think anyone noticed...

After the big night Sunday was a day for catching up with friends, went to see a great exhibition at the KW and then Monday was a day for exchanging music and come back to London!

Lucas (ZDS), BEWARE and Daniel Haaksman

Us three nerding about tracks!

Many thanks to everyone in Berlin, Man Recording's Dan and his girlfriend for being such good hosts!, the people at Scala and everyone who came and partied like champs until the early mo'

Last day in New York...

Soon I'll be retuning to LDN (what I call home nowadays) after two weeks here in New York...some of the things I would love to say I liked the most about this trip were:

The first *GIRLCORE* NYC at ALPHABETA! it was good fun! but next time I'll make sure I bring the whole bunch to create even more of a mess!

Lauren Flax's new remix of You've changed, I love the girl! I took her to London last month to play at the *GIRLCORE* stage at Offset Festival, she's got so much talent and its a great buddie, go check her myspace for upcoming releases and dj dates, she'll be touring as a dj for Fischerspooner this autumn.

Second thing...Plastic Caramelo! I featured the video on this blog before, go back and check it out! anyways my friends Tatease and Christian Castagno my beautiful hosts in NYC... are invading the blogs with their sticky sound and everyone is asking what comes next, more music! now! go check their myspace!

There are so many cool things happening in New York... so many cool bands and dj's emerging you must know about the Trouble and Bass crew they're gonna have their second anniversary bash soon!, also a new band I love is TELEPATHE they'll be touring the US and europe soon check them out too! can't wait to see them live...will have to be in London I guess!

One more thing to talk about my time in New York is my live at NACOTHEQUE! It was amazing! i was a little bit nervous but it ended up being lots of fun! I love what Amylu and Marcelo do with that party, it's definitely one of my favourite night in NYC! go check their myspace and don't miss Plastic Caramelo's and Kumbia Queers performances coming soon...

I guess there are much more of things I could talk about of being in NYC this time that I cannot remember right now all I can say its that I love a city where I can hear regueatton coming from the cars passing by and with great pizzas and mexican food. Would love to come and spend a long time recording an album maybe?

For now I leave you to Lil Wayne's A milli on cumbia version! I picked this from Mad Decent's Blog go check it out, the guys at Mad Decent keep on updating their blog quite frequently with gems for grabs!

A Milli (Toy Selectah Refix rev)-Lil Wayne
