Edilma Toro's Music Box is a blog for music I love, music that influences me, music I want to share. New music, old music… A tribute to people, artists, genres and times that have meant a lot to me along the way. And the name? Well, both my parents are music lovers. I chose my mum's name because I know she would've loved it.

AMERICAS TOUR, SO FAR...
So I thought it was time to write about my travels...
let's start by Los Angeles... was great even though I missed two gigs I wanted to see: Rye Rye at Dim Mak and Aeroplane at Medusa Lounge. G.U.T.T.E.D.
Crazy breakfasts at diners:

That burger below is meant to be a 'sausage' btw...

Iron Maiden's prints outside the Guitar Centre (one of my favourite places in L.A.so far) the staff is great and already have an obsession with a few toys I want to get when back in lala...

People ridding the massive boot of my friend's cop car...

mates passing out...

Macro biotic food

On Friday we headed to Coachella! 4 girls and a cop car...
Had lots of fun but Cochella wasn't at all the amazing festival I was expecting... what is it with having a limited zone for people to drink alcohol? So basically you can't go to a certain stage and watch your favourite band or dj and enjoy a cold beer at the same time. That's what I call lame!

Also the feeling that you're getting ripped off all the time! is not like that in UK festivals or at least the ones I've been to... My opinion on Coachella is that you don't feel there's any philosophy behind it, there's no purpose or ideology or theme.

I had a v.i.p pass but had a friend who bought the weekend ticket and was treated so badly... There's no one that can give you information about anything... There is NO RE- ENTRY to the festival (EVEN FOR PEOPLE WHO WHERE CAMPING THERE!!!) I mean come on!
On the website they talked about being 'green' and that they'll have water fountains everywhere and all you have to do was to bring an empty plastic bottle, when we got there discovered they were only refilling the 'coachella' ones which obviously there were selling (!)...

They obviously have big line ups cause they make an AWFUL lot of money! For a ticket that expensive I think is a total rip off to people who support this festival.
Coachella way to go to be like a festival in UK/europe...

On the other hand... and after I let some stuff out of my chest I really enjoyed:
-The Cure: no words can explain, they're my favourite band ever and they played an incredible show! even until the IDIOTS at coachella cut the sound!!! they played another two songs, and we all in the audience sang along! best moment at Cuntchella.

-Paul McCartney Legend! specially when he did his beatles songs...
-M.I.A. props to Maya for headline this festival amazing moment and show!
-Zizek - My mates representing!!! props to all of 'em! in my opinion they played the best music in the whole festival hehe!

-Drop the Lime - It was great to see the avalanche of kids filling the tent once Luca started playing!
-Buraka - even though I missed them people said they were on FIYA!
Gonna think of more acts I saw and will add them alter to this post...
All in all I had a cool time, my first Coachella (might be the last one, unless I'm playing but after this rant i certainly doubt it) as many people that have been to the festival say that the whole point are the parties and after parties, and that is right!
I played at a pool party on Sunday invited by the great Franki Chan, the line up was great SpankRock, Jokers of the scene and more...

Lots of free booze, sun and pool, my idea of fun!
