The Legend...

Sunny Saturday for a change in gray London and nothing better to listen to than Pastor Lopez, he really cheers me up, it reminds me being at a bus in Colombia, by the way in Medellin the buses play music, so you'll be listening to the hit of the moment (or to Latina Stereo if you are lucky) while you get to wherever you need to get, so nice!

On Tuesday the 30th at 10am Im gonna be on diesel radio talking and playing Cumbia! and Champeta, make sure you tune in!

Here's one classic song by Pastor Lopez, Traicionera, over the years many bad bands have made their versions of this song but there's nothing like the real thing, maybe its better when you speed it up a bit or maybe screwed...however you like to hear it, listen to this:

Traicionera-Pastor Lopez

NOTE: I just had to add another song, cause, why not?!

As I commented on a previous post I'm totally in love with Lauren Flax's first single You've Changed featuring vocals by the lovely and mystical Sia (zero 7), my first love has always been house music and listening to a fresh new house track like this just make me very happy! . The single will be released on Alexander Techniques new label DANR. It will be a beatport exclusive for 2 weeks then it will be everywhere else. Remixes will follow in a few weeks after the initial release by Junior Sanchez, Larry T, Alexander Technique, Angel Alanis, Dre Skull, Dances With White Girls and Lauren herself. She actually send us the original version for you readers to download, feel free to comment!

Back in London!

Terribly jet lagged but happy to be back, there's already plans for the night...
Tonite is the industry launch of MATTER the new club at the O2 from the same people who is behind FABRIC, basically the best club in London.

The song for the day will have to be Ewan Pearson's rmx of Hot Chips' Hold on and touch too much, the song also has remixes by Switch, Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Mock n' Toof. I haven't really landed totally but this song has helped me get back into the London state of mind, listen and let me know what you think...

Last day in New York...

Soon I'll be retuning to LDN (what I call home nowadays) after two weeks here in New York...some of the things I would love to say I liked the most about this trip were:

The first *GIRLCORE* NYC at ALPHABETA! it was good fun! but next time I'll make sure I bring the whole bunch to create even more of a mess!

Lauren Flax's new remix of You've changed, I love the girl! I took her to London last month to play at the *GIRLCORE* stage at Offset Festival, she's got so much talent and its a great buddie, go check her myspace for upcoming releases and dj dates, she'll be touring as a dj for Fischerspooner this autumn.

Second thing...Plastic Caramelo! I featured the video on this blog before, go back and check it out! anyways my friends Tatease and Christian Castagno my beautiful hosts in NYC... are invading the blogs with their sticky sound and everyone is asking what comes next, more music! now! go check their myspace!

There are so many cool things happening in New York... so many cool bands and dj's emerging you must know about the Trouble and Bass crew they're gonna have their second anniversary bash soon!, also a new band I love is TELEPATHE they'll be touring the US and europe soon check them out too! can't wait to see them live...will have to be in London I guess!

One more thing to talk about my time in New York is my live at NACOTHEQUE! It was amazing! i was a little bit nervous but it ended up being lots of fun! I love what Amylu and Marcelo do with that party, it's definitely one of my favourite night in NYC! go check their myspace and don't miss Plastic Caramelo's and Kumbia Queers performances coming soon...

I guess there are much more of things I could talk about of being in NYC this time that I cannot remember right now all I can say its that I love a city where I can hear regueatton coming from the cars passing by and with great pizzas and mexican food. Would love to come and spend a long time recording an album maybe?

For now I leave you to Lil Wayne's A milli on cumbia version! I picked this from Mad Decent's Blog go check it out, the guys at Mad Decent keep on updating their blog quite frequently with gems for grabs!

A Milli (Toy Selectah Refix rev)-Lil Wayne

This blog is meant to be a music box and to be honest in the last few months Ive been real slow at posting music...not that I'm not getting any new music but only that Ive been busy doing all sorts of things...taking girlcore around the world... (a month ago was Prague, two weeks ago was New york and on the 4th of October we're gonna be in Moscow!)
Anyways all I wanna say is that I know some of you still check this blog looking for some good music and that I apologize for my lack of music posting, as always listen to this and try to buy the actual work of the artists I promote.

The song I wanna feature is a remix of Bjork's song Dull flame of desire by Modeselektor! it features Antony Hegarty and its just what I'm into a much needed revival of trance in these days where Im about to collapse due to a disco overdose!
There are two versions of this remix... one for the girls and one for the boys, guess which one I'm posting...

Dull Flame Of Desire (Modeselektor's Remix For Girls)-Bjork
